What is a pet services invoice?
A pet services invoice bills for care given to a specific animal: grooming, walking, daycare, boarding, training or in-home sitting. The client is the owner, but the work happened to the pet — so the pet’s name on the invoice is what makes it recognisable at a glance.
Most of the money is recurring. Dog walking runs on weekly schedules and prepaid packages; grooming on a rebooking cycle of four to eight weeks; boarding on nights around holidays. Dated lines and visible package balances are what keep all three from turning into arithmetic conversations.
Add-ons are the second half of the business: nail trims, teeth brushing, de-shedding, medication administration, holiday surcharges, extra pets. Each priced and named, they add up quietly. Absorbed, they disappear.
What to include
Everything below is already in the generator above — this is what each part is for.
Pet name and owner
Who was cared for and who is paying. Owners with two dogs need to see which lines belong to which.
Dates of service
Each walk, appointment or boarding night with its date. This is the record owners check.
Service and duration
Full groom, 30-minute walk, overnight stay — named so the price attached makes sense.
Add-ons, individually
Nail trim, de-shed, medication, extra pet, holiday rate — priced lines rather than goodwill.
Package purchased and remaining
The block bought, how much has been used, and what remains before the next renewal.
Cancellation and key terms
Notice required, holiday surcharges, and anything about keys, access or vaccination records.
Three steps to a finished PDF
Enter owner and pet
Your business, the owner, and the pet’s name and breed in the client or notes field.
List visits and add-ons
One line per dated visit or night, add-ons on their own lines, and package balances in the notes.
Download and send
Download the PDF and send it at month end for recurring clients, or at pickup for grooming and boarding.
Billing recurring pet care
Sell packages and prepaid blocks
A ten-walk package or a monthly schedule invoiced in advance turns unpredictable daily work into stable revenue. It also makes cancellations less painful: the block is paid, and rescheduling costs you nothing.
Price add-ons and holidays properly
- Nail trims, de-shedding, teeth brushing and medication administration are skilled extras — give them list prices.
- Holiday and last-minute surcharges are normal in boarding and sitting; publish them and apply them consistently.
- Multi-pet households should have a stated second-pet rate rather than an improvised discount.
Bill grooming at pickup, walking monthly
Grooming is a transaction: invoice and collect at pickup, and rebook before the client leaves. Walking and sitting are relationships: invoice monthly, or in advance for packages, with every visit dated.
Keep the boring paperwork alongside the invoice
Vaccination records, vet authorisation, keys and access notes are what let you do the work at all. Reference them on the invoice or its notes when relevant, so the whole client file lives in one place and nothing is missing on the day you need it.
Three mistakes that delay payment
No dates on visits
A monthly total with no dates is the line owners dispute after a holiday week.
Add-ons given away
A free nail trim becomes an expected part of every groom within two visits.
Package balance untracked
When nobody knows the block ran out, the next payment is always late.
